Welcome to JJ Dance Arts:
A unique cutting-edge dance initiative founded by industry leader and renowned choreographer, JJ Moore. With over 2 decades of experience, JJ envisioned a training space that would go beyond the traditional dance studio model. The JJ Dance Arts program caters to dancers who aspire to pursue professional careers, as well as dancers who are looking for more training and performance opportunities alongside the competition circuit. With an established presence in the professional dance world, JJ’s vast experience led her to identify gaps in training offered at high-level studios, and design a curriculum for dancers looking to hone their skills to be successful in the professional world as dancers, choreographers, or to flourish with confidence, integrity and grit in any endeavour they pursue.
Uniquely combining the full experience and demand of a competitive dance season along with additional training and performance opportunities,
JJ Dance Arts distinctively offers lessons in artistry, adaptability, remounting, collaboration, and redirection, all required for film, television, and commercial dance. In this year-round training program designed for dancers in middle school to grade 12 and beyond, students learn skills required for company, film, television and commercial dance.
Training in this way while curating invaluable mentorships goes beyond any specific career; many graduates have gone on to succeed in related fields like physiotherapy, film editing, directing, animation, teaching and more. Most importantly, our program cultivates humble yet unwavering confidence, empowering individuals to excel in any professional endeavour they pursue after grade 12. The skills you learn in this program are transferable to any career and we are committed to supporting our dancers no matter what you choose to do.
Divided into three terms, the curriculum focuses on distinct tools and performance opportunities needed in the professional dancer’s arsenal:
Community Performance, Theatre Performance (via a curated competitive season) and Dance on Film. This strategic approach not only covers a variety of performance opportunities but also prepares dancers for auditions through our Audition Preparation Masterclass Series: an element of our curriculum which includes 8 mock auditions led by industry professionals, providing students with invaluable experience and skills directly transferable to a professional audition. Through our focused curriculum, students have not only booked professional opportunities, but have also honed skills in the worlds of choreography, directing, and editing, with a focus on building a professional dance resume to make you immediately competitive in the professional market.

Classes at JJ Dance Arts feature expert training by our esteemed faculty alongside a rotating guest faculty of industry visionaries.
With a limited enrollment in our program, JJ Dance Arts also offers personalized attention and goal-setting meetings per term.
Classes are divided by age:
The Junior Class: grades 5 & 6
The Intermediate Class: grades 7 & 8
The Senior Class: grades 9 & 10
The Graduate Class: grades 11 & 12 and gap year students

Behind the Vision: JJ Moore
Artistic Director JJ Moore is an established choreographer in the dance industry. With over two decades of professional experience as a dancer and choreographer in television and film, and even longer as a professional dancer, JJ has sculpted her career working on major productions alongside industry giants. Her work as a choreographer, movement coordination, and creature creation can be seen on Disney, Family Channel, Hallmark, OWN, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Ubisoft projects and more. She also works as a consulting producer, dance casting director, and motion capture movement director. Known for her commitment to story, creativity, and vision, her connection to the pulse of the professional world, bringing established and emerging talents into the industry, and supporting her students on any path.
Her vision for the JJ Dance Arts program is rooted in a commitment to strategic training and fostering the next generation of professional dancers. JJ's unique blend of expertise, industry connections, and a passion for nurturing talent make her an invaluable mentor, guiding dancers toward lasting success in the dynamic world of dance and beyond.

Stripped down to its essentials, our bright, open-concept studio space serves as a dedicated creative workspace.
We intentionally forgo a lobby, opting instead for a direct line of communication—whether it's meeting over coffee, a quick text exchange, or a phone call, JJ is readily available to connect with families. This deliberate accessibility ensures seamless communication, eliminating the need for a traditional reception area.
The studio is home to rehearsals and classes, and can be booked free of charge for the program’s students for additional project and rehearsal needs, creating a sense of empowerment and independence among students
