Volunteer Opportunities and Community Engagement

Volunteer Hours

Apart from a strong emphasis on mastering technique and performance, our dancers actively contribute to the community, participating in charity events and performances designed to make a meaningful impact.

In term 1, students have the chance to give back in three distinctive ways:

The vibrant "Food Fashion Fun" event benefiting The Lighthouse for Grieving Children.

Our original 3-act dance show titled, "Light Heavy Light," with all proceeds going to The Lighthouse for Grieving Children.

Our heartwarming “Holiday Cheer Tour” to 3 local retirement homes in the community

"For the past several years, the residents of LaSalle Park Retirement Community have had the pleasure of witnessing amazing performances by the dancers of JJ Dance Arts

and each time has been an absolute delight! These young dancers generously donate their time to entertain our residents and their performances have been nothing short of spectacular. Every time they visit, it’s an absolute highlight for everyone and we look forward to their next visit!"

These experiences instill a sense of responsibility, empathy, collaboration and unity amongst teammates. They empowers our dancers to become compassionate individuals who understand the profound impact of dance beyond the studio walls or competitive events. Our dancers are not just performers but, ambassadors of joy and connection within the community.

We believe in using dance as a powerful tool for positive change.

"We are so grateful to be able to partner with JJ Dance Arts for this incredible performance.

Light Heavy Light helps shine a light on the challenges people face in various points in their lives and how they navigate their way to find hope for a brighter tomorrow. This certainly holds true for our Lighthouse families as they navigate their grief journey. If you want to see exceptional dancers and be moved to tears, please come see Light Heavy Light and help support an important cause in your community."
